Originally SAGA Foundation was founded to explore ways to measure the public's understanding and concern regarding the dangers of unsecured highly enriched uranium leftover from the days of the cold war. We remain dedicated to this mission and have since expanded our interests to support a variety of solutions for making the world safer and more secure.

IN ACTION The Stimson Center Initiative
SAGA funded the launch of the Loomis Innovation Council, which is an initiative approach to moving beyond policy development and into operational deployment to address society’s most significant challenges: security, global warming, media technology, sustainable energy. Since its inception in 2019, the Loomis Innovation Council has been at the forefront of innovation in Renewable Energy, Blockchain enhancing the security of nuclear materials, and machine learning.
The Stimson Center & Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars
SAGA embarked on an ambitious collaborative project involving two of Washington’s most respected Think Tanks. The Stimson Center and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. In the long shadow of the cold war, experts recognize that there is still so much more work that needs to be to make the world safer and more secure. We challenged these two organizations to find positive common ground with their Russian counterparts to build on past accomplishments in the area of space and science and work toward the realization that only through collaboration can we share in a safer future for all the people of the planet.

Woodrow Wilson International Center
The Wilson Center is the nation’s key non-partisan policy forum for tackling global issues through independent research and open dialogue to inform actionable ideas for the policy community.
Collaboration Outcome
The Stimson Center and the Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute have convened an international Working Group of scientists and policy experts from the United States and Russian Federation to explore the status of U.S.-Russian science collaboration, focusing on epidemiology and public health. The working group consists of noted representatives from the medical and academic communities of the United States and Russia, in light of the vital importance of these fields during the COVID-19 pandemic.
